Výstavu v Antverpskej galérii Epreuve d'Artiste spoluorganizuje Generálny konzulát Slovenskej republiky v Bruseli v spolupráci s umeleckým kolektívom 40 x 60 BRUSSELS a Station Gallery v Bratislave.
Koná sa pod značkou Slovenského domu ako súčasť vlajkového projektu kultúrnej prezentácie Slovenska v Belgicku, ROOTS 2024.
Výstava Printing, still-stredná generácia vznikla v nádväznosti na úspešnú výstavu mladej grafiky Printing, still z roku 2022 v galérii Epreuve d 'Artiste v Antverpách.
Výstava predstavila 8 autorov a autoriek, ktorí aj dnes implementujú médium tradičnej grafiky do svojej tvorby. Projekt mapuje, do akej miery sa médium grafiky, primárne jej tradičnejších a komplexnejších polôh, stále objavujú v tvorbe súčasných autorov. Slovenská ale i Belgická grafika majú svoje hlboké korene a tradíciu, ktoré sa v galérii Epreuve d'Artiste prepájajú vďaka jej zakladateľke, galeristke a výtvarníčke, Chris Verheyen, a jej prepojeniu na Slovensko, ktoré začalo ešte v 80tych rokoch jej štúdiom na VŠVU v Bratislave. Táto výnimočná galéria sa dodnes venuje výstavným aktivitám orientovaným na tradičnú i experimentálnu grafiku v spolupráci s výtvarníkmi z medzinárodného prostredia.
Výber druhého ročníka výstavy sa sú stredí na autorov narodených v rokoch 1970-80, čím pokrýva generáciu slovenských autorov, ktorí doteraz neboli prezentovaní v galérii Epreuve d'Artiste. Selekcia autorov pozostáva z piatich výrazných mien slovenskej grafickej scény: Peter Kollár, Silvia Krivošíková, Róbert Makar, Andrea Pézman a Patrik Ševčík. Všetci spomínaní autori a autorky vo svojej tvorbe vychádzajú z tradičných grafických princípov a tie posúvajú do nových foriem vizuálnej prezentácie. Výstava predstavuje výber jedného grafického cyklu od každého autora, ponúka náhľad do širokej škály grafických prístupov a predstavuje ich ambiciózne výtvarné programy v kontexte súčasnej grafiky na Slovensku a v zahraničí.

The exhibition in Antwerp Gallery Epreuve d'Artiste is co-organized by the Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in Brussels in cooperation with the art collective 40 × 60 BRUSSELS and Station Gallery in Bratislava.
It takes place under the brand of Slovak house as part of the Flagship project of the cultural presentation of Slovakia in Belgium, ROOTS 2024.
The exhibition Printing, still-The Middle Generation is a follow-up to the successful exhibition of young print-makers Printing, still from 2022 at the Epreuve d'Artiste gallery in Antwerp.
The exhibition featured 8 artists who continue to implement the medium of traditional printmaking in their work today. The project traces the extent to which the medium of printmaking, primarily its more traditional and complex positions, still appears in the work of contemporary artists. Both Slovak and Belgian printmaking have deep roots and traditions, which are intertwined in the Epreuve d'Artiste gallery thanks to its founder, gallerist and artist, Chris Verheyen, and her connection to Slovakia, which began back in the 1980s with her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. This exceptional gallery is still dedicated to exhibiting traditional and experimental printmaking in collaboration with international artists.
The selection of the second edition of the exhibition focuses on artists born between 1970 and 80, thus covering a generation of Slovak artists who have not been presented in the Epreuve d'Artiste gallery until now. The selection of artists consists of five prominent names of the Slovak graphic art scene: Peter Kollár, Silvia Krivošíková, Róbert Makar, Andrea Pézman and Patrik Ševčík. All of the abovementioned authors draw on traditional graphic principles in their work and push them into new forms of visual presentation. The exhibition shows a selection of one graphic series by each artist, offering insight into a wide range of graphic approaches and presenting ambitious artistic programs in the context of contemporary printmaking in Slovakia and abroad.
